  I was sold a lifetime warranty and told if I ever have problems with my router to bring it in and I would get a credit for the amount I purchase the router to apply towards a new router. That was two years ago. This past week my router started dropping WiFi, so I upgraded the firmware from the manufacturer, and it continued to have problems. So I called the store they looked up my information said bring it all in and we will give you $100 credit to purchase a new router. Saturday morning rolls around I take the router into the store expecting to leave with a new router and go home to set up my network for the next few hours. Instead I'm told that I have to schedule an appointment to have the router diagnosed by one of their technicians. I'm leaving the store now pissed off they over-promise and under-delivered. So much for keeping my money local.
